I.D. Refusal: This Officer Has An I.D. Fetish

It amazes me that public employees walk up to citizens and ask “Can I help you?” and then proceed to refuse to help you.

 

“I’ve never heard of a criminal who records his own crime.” Have you heard of a police bodycam? Those criminals record their own crimes all day every day.

 

This the kind of service we get with or without a camera

 

The police supervisor told them it was legal to film and sit there and do his story and these people still were upset.

 

There is no expectation of privacy in a public place.

 

This is one of the ONLY audits, where the Auditor made NO mistakes.
This is a post-graduate College Class for auditing. But it isn’t stressful(arrestable), and that makes a difference.

 

Anyone could write down what someone says. How is filming a breach of privacy when every single person in the lobby can hear and SEE the person? What logic from the staff and cops who have a combined IQ of 15 between them. Geniuses!

 

It’s amazing that, “ in this day and age” officers still always defer to violating the citizens rights.

 

Public servants no long believe they answer to the people.

 

GETTING ID IS LIKE CRACK TO THE POLICE
After years of watching these types of videos, I’ve found that I can get service faster when I start recording in the lobby.
The 1st amendment is legal business. Funny thing is this place probably has cameras everywhere in that building. Kudos to the Sargent for knowing the law. He needs to educate the officers under him!
Ugh I’ve said it a thousand times…they act like your ID will reveal a crime….
The employee actually says it’s “violating federal law” like he knows. Sergeant was aware of the law. Holy crap!
cops are so annoyed these days when more and more people know their rights and can’t be bullied.

He should have mentioned that there are cameras hanging on the wall and he has a right to those cause ITS PUBLIC.
Why are not police officers educated on the law? I hope the first officer has learned a lesson from his Seargent. I notice that they didn’t close the lobby as they didn’t have that authority. Isn’t it funny how no one wants to call their Supervisor?
I think they are taught to always ask for ID to search for possible warrants and make a quick arrest
After that cops supervisor left he no longer has the credibility to try to explain anything to you.
You’ve got to give credit where credit is due. That Sergeant educated Officer Papalotski? and I believe that he really got it.
I love to see LEOs faces when citizens say “NO I WILL NOT SHOW YOU MY ID!”, the are so used to we the people doing exactly what we are told to do.
My advice is if you’re going to do these lobby audits, you should come in with a very specific request. Ask for a public records request request form and be clear that’s what your visit is about. Or be specific that your stay is not indefinite and you want to film x, y, and z in the public lobby.
The employees are always the ones causing the disturbance. HE was very professional and calm until everyone else escalated it. THEY DONT OWN THE BUILDING you cannot run a government building on YOUR feelings. I hope he at least filed a complaint.
This highlights that they have “clients” coming in looking for help to get back into work and they are forced to discuss their personal situation and details in a public place with no privacy. But if you look thorough the doors the bureaucrats seem to have no shortage of space. If they had put any thought into how to serve their “clients” they would have made much more suitable arrangements to discuss personal details with their “clients”.
They don’t want transparency. That was beautiful that he made the cop descalate and explain to that government dummy. File that complaint on that stupid bureaucrat.
