ICPPUL Politicians

ICPPUL >  Politicians

ICPPUL is an acronym that describes a type of malignant authority. ICPPUL stands for:

  • ignorant, conflicted, privileged, power over, unaccountable, and lazy

(This is NOT representative of all politicians, or other forms of authority)

  1. ignorant: many politicians are ignorant on the subject matters the govern.  For many, this ignorance is not a problem as it is more important to be entertaing or manufacturing consent
  2. conflicted: all politicians have financial conflicts of interests (directly and indirectly).
  3. privileged: many politicians have networks of connections , wealth, and better benefits than most of their constituents.
  4. power over: They make gestures of “power with“ (tell us what you think ..) but for some, this is just a gimmick that is espoused.
  5. unaccountable: all politicians are pre-screened in an “invisible primary”, where candidates much compete for donors before they can become viable candidates.  Only those laws or decisions that have the support of the donors are eligible for consideration. (Princeton study: US is an oligarchy: average voters have little influence  | read)
  6. lazy: many politicians do not do the work on the substance of lawmaking because this sort of work is not rewarded.
