Officers Enforce Non-Existent Laws

***CORRECTION*** Mr. Marshall would not have been legally obligated to present his ID unless he had been arrested at the time of the command. Michigan is not a stop and ID state, meaning that more than RAS is required to compel citizens to present ID.

“Soliciting without a permit”
“soliciting what?”
“Whatever you’re soliciting…”
“you don’t even know what I’m doing?”
“what are you soliciting?”

Imagine if police officers could be personally fined for unlawfull actions.
I love how cops are like “we don’t know why people don’t trust us”
Man I can’t imagine how ruined this guy’s life would be been without this wonderful woman
How could the cops be expected to know about a civil law that’s been around for only 400 yrs?
They had no problem trying to ruin this man’s life with a felony. Sorry isn’t enough.
They wanted to arrest him and take his kids to protective so the parents would have a case with CPS , any thing to destroy a family for no reason
You can tell that cop who initiaties the whole thing is really a dangerous guy. Its all about flexing power for him.
Both deputies should be fired. I understand the deputy wearing the glasses was fired, but the other one that stood by, watched, and did nothing to protect the victim from an unlawful arrest is just as guilty as the other. Both deputies are guilty PERIOD.
Love how the homeowner knows that petitioning is a constitutionally protected right
I love how down for the cause this random woman is. She’s just like, ‘oh word Officer? It’s like that?’ lol she’s not cool with their Gestapo tactics
The irony of him trying to obtain signatures for fair rights and then illegitimately cuffed is kinda amazing
I’m really impressed by the lady filming. She knew her shit and certainly conveyed it effectively and coherently. I wonder why she has to know all this, looks like this type of shit happens often around where she lives and she forced to have to know all these things. Sue the crap out of the department.
Some cops demand a “yes Master” attitude from citizens.
Ms Totsky is incredible. just unrelenting. perfectly handled to how she addressed the child situation then right back on the attack. total pro.
“Don’t mess with my rights” . How is such a powerful statement like that so easily overlooked by these two people?
>> Unchallenged power is like a drug and it numbs people who wield it.
>> because your first amendment is just an illusion or something told to a toddler to feel special
>> Shout out to the neighbor too! Looking out for him and the kids.
The shitty thing about all these cases is that the money that is paid out in these lawsuits is taxpayer money. What needs to happen is the money comes off their budget & then will start seeing some results.
Funny how the average person, with absolutely no police training/education, can have a better grasp of the law and our constitutional rights than the officers that are supposed to enforce those laws and protect those rights.
My props to the neighbor lady. I’m glad there’s more of us who are becoming outraged over racist and/or power hungry cops! I think both played a role here. Just my opinion. We all need to stand strong with other folks who are being treated unjustly. It’s absurd and pathetic that cops like this even exist! Officers used to be heroes and now they’ve become villains.
That was literally the most racially profiling and unreasonable search and arrest of a citizen that I have seen on this yet! The audacity of these officers challenging somebody on their own property is mind-boggling!
The truly tragic part of this interaction — there are two small children who have the majority of their lifetimes to not trust and/or hate police. Great job tyrant thugs.
Ms Totzke also has every right to sue: the deputies were abrogating her First Amendment rights too by denying her the right to participation in the political process.
Once again, all this injustice starts with an anonymous phone call from a Karen…if wrongly detained, these officers need to be held accountable AND these no life having 911 callers who get scared when they see black people minding their business..
This arrest truly breaks my heart. What bothers me most is the cop without the cap KNEW what was happening was WRONG in every sense of the word. When a good cop won’t stand up against a BAD cop, all trust is lost in this institution of law enforcement. This was only an act being perpetrated by a BULLY!!! The cop needs to go. Unfortunately, he will just move on to another town. HEART BREAKING
I’ve lived in Battle Creek my whole life and had no idea of this incident. Thank you for sharing, I am currently involved with the protection of rights and civil liberties in this city and this is great information to have.
Its BLATANTLY obvious that this Cop made the decision to arrest this man when he approached him with handcuffs in his hand already. Then he dodges every legitimate statement and question that both of these citizens present to him. There REALLY needs to be more done when hiring these cops to determine who is right and wrong for this type of work.
Just the look on the deputy’s face while talking… It takes a different kind of strength not to fight back.
of everything this lady did right, keeping those kids safe until she was able to personally deliver them to family, she is an angel.
Bless that homeowner for not backing down and sticking up for him!
A repeated theme I hear in these cases is officer lack of training. For most of these officers training has nothing to do with it. They let their ego and temper control the situation and abuse their power.
I love how the gal took complete ownership of her friend’s rights being trampled, and correctly viewed that as her own rights being trampled. If you observe wrong being done right in front of you and don’t speak out, how can you expect to have someone come to your defense when you’re the one being wronged
you need to institute an “F minus” mark for situations like this.
The lady is brilliant. They was wrong for this. They all stayed calm and made sure the children stayed calm too. It’s just disgraceful that this goes on so much. Smh
You go girl!!!! So proud of her. We all need neighbours like this lady.
Mr. Marshall was much more composed than I could have been in the same situation. I admire his patience and self confidence.
It amazes me that when you don’t obey their commands. All a sudden they egos steps a break their own laws by making up laws to put you in cuffs. It also seems that Officers hate being wrong ergo the the ego again.
Got to love how the sheriffs dept still defended him by claiming he was right just not in that county. Sorry but collecting signatures is legal in all jurisdictions. It’s called the 1st amendment.
Caller: “hey there’s a BLACK man out here trying to fight for our rights and make our community safer… can you come arrest him and let him know he has no rights and is not safe” Dispatcher: for sure I have the perfect pair of officers.
…it is clear from the video that the deputies had no interest in carrying out a legitimate investigation to determine the legality of Mr. Marshall’s conduct…🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
A 911 call was logged on the basis of suspected solicitation?! The energy levels of the deputies was way outta proportion to the situation from the very beginning. I might be able to go along with them trying to legitimately establish his residency on that property to eliminate trespassing concerns but that’s about it.
The hateful & arrogant look on that cops face, tells you everything about him.
Man, when AtA ends up going all the way back to the Magna Carta, you know you effed up.
I love how the second officer was so ashamed that he left without saying a thing
This one really pissed me more the usual. What a piece of trash. The cop literally went out looking to bully people. Hope he felt like a big man. Definitely deserves to lose his job and any benefits
“Transparency and honesty to our community is the foundation to all of our success.” This from the Sheriff … who will not release the name of the deputy. How is that transparency?
Thank you Mrs. Totsky for standing up for your neighbor. Also, I am so glad that the officer was terminated. However, I’m pretty sure he just went to another office and was hired. That ability to be rehired is a disservice to peaceful citizens.
Seriously this is why people have serious problems with cops. This shit gives me heartburn.
Can you give the deputy a double Z- for a lower grade than an F
After watching so many of these interactions the default response the police have is stating “hindering* whenever something doesn’t go their way.
Thank GOD for good neighbors and citizen’s who refuse to allow crooked cops to infringe on our rights!
There are so many of these videos that could have been resolved had the officers approached these non-violent situations with a little more understanding and a WILL to hear people out.
What is unbelievable is that without cameras this guy would be a convicted felon and that is why these police officers need to lose their badge and go to jail
That’s was awesome! And has the proper ending with the cop losing his job. That was ridiculous. Here is a man that is a good father, good role model, model citizen, pillar of his community and it was evident just by looking at things in front of the officer. Definitely a penis envy arrest. Every neighborhood should be so lucky to have a dude like this taking initiative and making the neighborhood safer, better, raising property value. What’s not to like?
What’s funny is that the second officer definitely did not want to do what they were doing. He was just caught up in it and had to go with his partner.

>> He didn’t have to go with his partner. he could have spoken up for what was right. The good cops need to control the bad cops, otherwise they are all bad cops.

>> You ppl at naive if u think that blue line of silence is going to be broken that easily

>>  @Gundawindy Ricketts  Exactly. This fraternity and blue line bullshit with garbage qualified immunity is all part of the problem. Start arresting and charging corrupt officers, DA, and judges with crimes as normal citizens and it will reform real quick. Being put on paid/unpaid leave is not a punishment, and they should not be allowed to be hired in other counties or cities.

>> This is why people say ACAB. You can’t say they’re a good cop if they stand by when this happens. The real good cops are fired, marked as snitches and chased out, or dead.

>> “The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.”

>> No he didn’t. He could have pulled his partner aside and said…Man I don’t think this is an issue. Let’s let it ride…but he didn’t. And because of that he is at fault too.

Yet another example of what society gets when we encharge our law enforcement to individuals with only a high school level education and an academy that is the academic the equivalency of summer school for most 1st yr JC, college students.
this needs to keep on until it costs cities more in wrongful arrest compensation than they’re saving in under-training and under-educating their police.
I have been watching this channel for 2 days straight as I just found it and this case blows my mind more than most. A: He is being accused of soliciting B: He is being told by the person on whose property the police is on, confirming that he is not soliciting. That alone should have been enough. I could go on but this is a blatant case of power tripping in it’s finest. I am relieved to hear that this police officer has been fired. Excessive use of undue unlawful power in it’s finest.
I feel like so many of these officers would learn so much if their goal truly is, and stays throughout an interaction, to maintain the peace. This is a direct example of how police involvement led to an unnecessarily escalated conflict (likely due to their egos getting hurt)
I recommend that all cops from now on use a hiring method of any cop new or old to go through an ego and control evaluation and training to determine if they are even qualified to be around anyone on the field. Not all cops are this way but this cop on here has a control problem
These thugs have become so used to violating people’s rights that it becomes second nature to them. Qualified immunity needs to be removed.
One thing I’ve learned by watching a lot of these videos is how difficult it is for some cops to disengage once it is determined that no crime is being committed. I would bet that you could find that officers are less likely to disengage when the ‘suspect’ is a POC, especially if it the suspect is a black man. I think that this type of behavior is what fuels black mistrust of the police much more than the high-profile shootings / killing do. It sucks that Mr. Marshall had to go through this; however, I’m hopefully that, by recording these types of interactions will allow them to be used in training more even-minded and professional police.

“If you want to test a man’s character, give him power” – Abraham Lincoln
Police immunity should be removed from Law Enforcement for this very reason. Training should include Customer Service.
This is outrageous. I can’t believe they really did all this while knowing they were being filmed too. Chilling to think then how they behave when they know no one is watching. The nerve!! That man did NOTHING!
“we’ll figure that later” is the cherry on top of ingoring the request to give name and badge number. While being video recorded. I facepalmed so hard I now have a hand tattoo on my face
Watching these videos and thinking about my adolescence in Baltimore… makes me realize how many times my rights where violated by Baltimore city police. I’ve been cuffed, slammed on the hood, searched and detained three times just because I was well dressed.. literal words from the cops mouth.
I need you to read to me for nighty night time. 30% of the reason I watch these is how articulate, calm, and concise you are in these videos.
Too many times we see so called law enforcement getting an “F” because of ego tripping self righteousness.
Here’s my problem. More times than not, even AFTER the cities or counties have paid out huge lawsuits, these Bozo’s are more often than not, still LEO, somewhere.
The best part…”yall messed up, ya messed up.” Officer Pudgy’s expression was worth his weight of gold!!
“You’re under arrest!” – For what? “We’ll figure that out!”
I’m on the side of the police when they are right. In this video, the man being arrested is right.
Learn the Law Follow the Law Especially if you are supposed to enforce it!!!
“I’m dealin’ with him not you.” The goddamn arrogance and ego it must take to say that to someone on that person’s property is staggering.
Sad to see police officers in my own hometown be so bad at their profession
Two years to be a hairdresser. Six months to be a cop…. Where’s the problem here?
The officer should have been arrested for the felony of violating this man’s civil rights.
>> Deprivation of rights under color of law.
This has been taking place since 1836 with the opening of the first full time police department in Boston Massachusetts. If this is going to change, the first step is to devolve all city police, place them under the Sheriff.
So this good samaritan is actually trying to improve his community with no expectation of compensation going above and beyond his civic duties and some cops come harrass him. This type of shit makes me seriously angry.
What it boils down too is having to record everything all the time. That’s why I have a phone holder on my dashboard. If I ever get pulled over, my camera is going
it really angers me how these cops do what ever they want with citizens i know we have rights but cops dont care
This proves why any contact with police should be avoided whenever possible
6 months of training is not sufficient, they literally can destroy someone’s life with legal actions. END QUALIFIED IMMUNITY
Trying to do something good for his community and this is what happens. Absolutely disgusting turn of events. I’d love to have neighbours like him and the woman who was filming.
“put your hands behind your back”
“I’m not doing anything illegal”
“We don’t know that, put your hands behind your back”
“I’m getting signatures”
“You’re soliciting, put your hands behind your back”
“That’s not illegal”
“We can’t think of anything else to do, we’re very low skilled individuals”
In the cops mind, it’s too much work to investigate what crime has been commited. Even if no crime has been committed, as long as a person makes a call, and police make contact, you’ve commited a crime and are going to jail. No questions asked.
This is possibly the most disturbing video I’ve watched on this channel, and that’s saying a lot. I am so disgusted by the officers’ absolute disregard for the law, civil rights, police procedure and just all logic. Losing their jobs is not enough. They need to go to prison and this man needs to sue that police department into bankruptcy.
This is a prime example of why we should always video any and all interactions with the police. Things can go sideways quick.
“How many times I gotta tell you to turn around and put your hands behind your back?” You gotta keep saying it until it’s a lawful order silly billy.
Imagine all those victims before because no cameras or phones caught such pieces of shit.
>> I was one of those victims from the LAPD in the late 80’s….that’s why when the King recording came out, I was SHOCKED someone got it on video
>> Oh they were and are commonplace. It sucks because there ARE many police departments across North America which are exactly what you’d hope they’d be, but since policing is such a necessarily invasive act (not in a bad way, just objectively by nature), the failures and crimes of bad officers and departments often have especially serious impacts on individuals’ lives.
Good cops do a job that does need doing, and that most of us really don’t want to do ourselves. I still agree with nation-wide police reform, up to the federal level of police regulation, and not just in the US, but certainly there first.
@Smile & Be Happy  I think Ryleigh doesn’t understand that cops like these do dirty things to people of color because of qualified immunity. With video of them committing battery and assault they don’t fear any punishment at all.
General question: can you get police removed from your property, like trespassing?
What’s ironic is, the officers are refusing to provide their own personal information as they commit a crime and are arresting him for ‘obstruction’ of a crime that doesn’t exist.
As a former resident of BC, I’m telling you this is how this counties cops have always been…above the law and people are nothing. Especially if you have issues beyond your control, they treat you like dirt
We had such high hopes for the unnamed deputy, he graduated at the top of his class
And again , if there was no one recording this tyranny who knows what would have happened to this man.. felony resisting? Tf??!!??
13:34 I find this very troubling, for there is no part of the LEO conduct in the video that could possibly be lawful anywhere in the U.S.A., so to say that he was enforcing ordinances that are valid in other areas is either the scariest thought possible or a flat out lie. I’m going to go with lie so the public does not scream for prosecution of yet another thug with a badge. 18USC241 seems rather appropriate. Administrative leave is more condoning the behavior than anything, it amounts to a paid vacation.
This happens way too many times and it needs to stop
The ‘silent’ officer in the background who bought the business card knew it was all wrong! His behaviour when he handed over that card to her statements spoke louder than any words!
“We have a caller” Translation: we can do what we want, and you have no rights unless we let you have them.
I feel so bad for the good cops who are being judged because of tyrants like this! The guy was doing nothing wrong!
When the interaction started, I would have requested a supervisor on the scene now.
These police are literally ignoring the property owner who they were basically trespassing. Wow this has me heated.
Even in states that “claim” to be stop and ID states still must have RAS of a crime to ID or detain you.
Another example of why I LOVE good cops.
What we need to remember also is the police are usually called in by a neighbor.
“I’m collecting signatures”
“Signatures for what?”
“It doesn’t matter”
“It DOES matter” — because if we don’t like what you’re collecting signatures for, we’re going to arrest you.
>> 100% …he didnt dare say what it was for…

>> The irony is amazing

I swear most of those videos could’ve ended in less than a minute if everybody did what that lawyer in Alabama did. When cops want to arrest you for false accusations just go with it, comply and remain silent. When they take you in, get a lawyer and congrats for the money you’re about to make. But making a scene and giving the cops a lot of points to argue with against you?!
“there was a phone call”
Apparently that line can have all your rights violated.
These seem like cops that have a very strong understanding of the impunity that the qualified immunity grants them

.. Yeah I think The cop did it right. That’s exactly how they do me every time. Tell me about the laws im breaking threaten to arrest me. And then ask me what I’m doing.

What I find even more frustrating is that “solicitation” is what the 911 caller said it might be, and nobody, from the dispatcher on down to the Barney Fife the idiot who arrested the guy neither knew nor bothered to look up if “solicitation” was even a thing in their municipality.
For the record: This didn’t happen in Battle Creek, it happened in Springfield, a small city completely surrounded by Battle Creek in the northern part of the city.
I live one county north, less than 30 miles away, and I’m familiar with the area.
10:44 his silence spoke volumes….he knew they were done

Cops Try To Escalate Nothing Into Something For officer safety

If these cops are filling their dispers because a nice woman is looking out for her sister and child then they have ABSOLUTELY no business being cops. No courage, no integrity, no honor. Ged rid of thrm.

There is no “situation” so insignificant that a cop won’t find an excuse to arrest, beat or murder you over.

When an officer starts stuttering his words you know you’re in trouble because he’s trying to come up with a situation that does not exist so he struggles with the words to create it
That officer is so out of control with his emotions he is now a danger to the public because he has a gun
That looks like more than two car distance away. It’s like 5 car length away. Man there are so many cowardly cops out there, it’s a shame.
WOMAN: I served in the Military COP: I don’t give a Fuck !! That sums it up right there !!!
Who knows what they would have done without a witness! It’s amazing the tyrants’ recordings were available for release.
The entire Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Department is terrible. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
He knows exactly who she is. It’s on his computer. They never ask questions they don’t already know the answer to.
“I’m gonna make sure I go home every night.” I’d argue that that’s not in any way part of your duties to serve and protect your community!!! Not yourselves. This is why people HATE you
Everyone needs to call the sheriffs department and let us stand up for our veterans
As a citizen I would like to point out the most important thing to me when I get pulled over by the police is my safety. I have just as much right to protect my safety as they do I have just as much fear in me as they do and for them to take away our worries and concerns and only think of their others is just another drop in the bucket
So, this chicken cop can call for back-up, but her sister can’t wait to make sure she is safe, and if a cop has to worry about his safety all the time he needs to go work at Kentucky Fried Chicken, the only thing threatening is the chicken, that officer was rude the minute he walked up too the car I have seen those videos the whole objective is to kill and go home there is no bridging the gap, cops don’t want it.
It would have been so easy for the second cop to just stay with the sister until the stop was over.
So nice that the sergeant came to copsplain at the end. Those women feel so much safer now when they know it’s okay for cops to do whatever they like to you.
“His words” did not initially state or ever state a probable cause or reasonable articulation of suspicion that a traffic violation has been committed or any other justification for running the woman’s license plate.. Randomly running plates without a just cause is grasping for low hanging fruit in search for any reason to stop a citizen. Targeting citizens without just cause is harassment!
So if someone gets pulled over in a residential neighborhood everyone needs to vacate the area?
The way the officer is swearing with a child in the back is disgusting, yet entirely expected.
Police are trained to be professional arguers. They want to escalate the situation until you do or say something that they can use against you.
I don’t understand why the cop got upset about the other car being there. I see multiple cars pulled over together all the time in traffic stops.
Sick of cops acting like they’re perfect angels and think everyone is out to get them. Absolutely no self awareness
The policing institution is decayed with corruption, ego/anger issues, stupidity, and a blatant disregard for the U.S. Constitution.
At this point, I think it’s safe to say law enforcement have become domestic terrorists. And the kick in the teeth is that they’re paid for by their victims.
They can get away with assault, they did right here. Even a complaint won’t even be listened to, or lead to any punishment. I agree with your stand your ground statement. edit: Battery, they got away with battery and covering up the battery. That officer should have spent time in jail for crushing that woman with the vehicle’s door.
I love how these cops think that people aren’t in danger when these thugs pull them over…..they honestly think that there lives are more important then ours!
We must outlaw any and every military member from entering law enforcement. They consider us civilians, which means their mentality tells them they are in a warzone! I left you an email James, are you going to leave the rest of of that need help?
I love that the officer tried to overpower her and close her door and miserably got out muscled and failed.
Did he really say she was 2 car lengths ahead of them? That’s obviously a blatant lie… she has every right to stop on the side of the road and wait.. This is bullying, plain and simple, and unfortunately is normal, and not the exception, these days…
This is my sister and I. All I want to say is the main point that’s concerning to me and that has given me PTSD hasn’t even been highlighted. These officers were conspiring to take my child from me! That’s the issue! One of the officers said he would “hem us up” if the other cop wanted him to then the other cop said “shhhh” and pointed to his body cam. Why is this being overlooked?! It has caused great distress in my child and myself.

Don’t worry guys, I’m sure he isn’t in that position anymore, he probably got promoted
James perhaps you can speak with a DA or AG on this issue and show the police training is wrong and needs to change for instances like this
He is delaying the traffic stop beyond what is reasonable. He could go back to his cruiser and feel as safe as possible. But he is not doing that.
I love when they say -“I’m not going to play this game” when they know they are full of shit.
Somebody needs to teach the cops the law they are violating more laws than they are enforcing good God Almighty how stupid can they be did they not swear an oath to the Constitution of the United States of America I want every law enforcement officer in this country to reaffirm they’re allegiance to the Constitution of the United States of America if they have the balls to do it because they love to violate people’s rights instead of protecting them this is getting ridiculous God help us all when a cop will do this to a woman on the side of a highway Jesus Christ
I find it very interesting how I really like your interpretation of those events compared to the VERY LAME assessment from “Audit the Audit”. They must be boot lickers because they gave that cop a “B-“. You have hit the nail on the head. It just amazes me that even with today’s technologies that cops still come up with the idea that their safety is paramount and above the safety of anyone and everyone else. That black vehicle was at least 50 feet away from the traffic stop but they cannot stand for any witnesses to their predatory practices. The only words I have to describe those tyrantical cops are “BADGE DRUNK“. Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely. I really hate it when a cop trys copspaining away the reason why they broke the law.
If these LEOs are sooooo damn scared for their safety, why don’t they get a safer job? Quit, if you’re scared.
Ofcourse. Any car driving by can do a drive by, yes cops.. close the whole freeway 🙄
Damn he could’ve already written the ticket already damn the ego on this coward
It’s very telling that the cops stumble over and ignore the most important question from the driver; “What law is that?” Of course they can’t actually name a law.
And then to put the icing on the cake he assaults her with the door and starts fighting with her to close the door and then finally says f*** it I don’t care anymore. And this man is on the streets interacting with the public and the department doesn’t see an issue with this this is a lawsuit waiting to happen I have a gut feeling this officer will end up discharging his gun because of emotional feelings he cannot check his emotions he cannot keep his emotions in balance he creates such horrible situations that puts the public in danger
I’ve been in this same situation. It’s about ego, hubris and control.
Officer safety? Being a cop is one of the safest jobs out there! You would think that he is a carpenter or something the way he worries about his own safety.
I am usually the first to defend a cop’s actions but this just makes my blood boil. These cops are plain wrong!
I’m so sick of tyrants violating our rights in the name of “SAFETY”
Ugh. I’ve scaled back my 1A viewing to a handful of auditors or aggregate sources because of the sheer stupidity of these cops. I can only take so much stupidity every week. At first it was funny, then educationally fun… now it’s just downright scary. They really have an us v.s. them mentality.
Wow, that “I’m gonna make sure i go home every day” was just mind boggling. Completely out of context but showing from where he’s speaking. James, can you go behind the curtain and do a video about the training. I think that would be an eye opener for many people that still belive that cops are protecting and serving anybody. Keep up the good work. God bless!
i don’t blame the cops being so paranoid after seeing these types of interactions with law abiding citizens who needs criminals
I cannot believe the immaturity of this so called law enforcement officer. This is all about ego and has absolutely nothing to do with officer safety!
By their behavior she had every right to stay there because obviously her sister needed a witness to the behavior of these officers for they are clearly not following the color of the law
🤦🤷 this was/is in my back yard. I’ve got 40 years here born and raised. Been harassed caged and beat by these guys. At least they have body cams now. This first guy talking is a fast talking tyrant
The cop says 1/3 of the time he runs a license plate it comes back with a suspended license or warrant. So one out of three people driving down the road have a warrant or suspended license? Unbelievable that the cop can just make up fake facts. I can guarantee you that it’s not one third of people. Wow.
This isn’t even surprising anymore it’s just upsetting.
The Academy teaches these murderers exactly what they want to hear. That is they can murderer anyone they want without reason or impunity. Police academies is where reform has to start.
Once you figure out that police are only there to protect state property and state assets it all makes sense. “To serve and protect” is true, but it’s not to serve and protect you, it’s to serve and protect state property and state officials. Period
I love James. He tells it like it is. This cop is so flustered he’s dangerous in my opinion. She’s not close to the traffic stop. She’s waiting for her sister. This is proof her sister is right by waiting for her.
2 very smart ladies who had each others backs true girl power well done girls
It’s amazing how 99% of these videos has the cop just opening unlocked doors. I changed the factory settings of my truck that my doors remain locked when I put it in park.
Honestly, the most telling sign in this whole video that they are NOT worried for their safety — when the lady in the black car finally agrees to give her ID, you can see the cop in the window reflection casually chewing gum with his hands on his hips while she digs through a large ‘purse’ (for almost 30 seconds) that could easily be holding a very large handgun or any other kind of weapon…he’s not threatened in any way, otherwise he would be on high alert. She’s lucky that he was just there to throw his weight around and bully her, otherwise she could have been shot by a hypervigilant cop.
One officer could deal with the white car solo… He only called back-up for the 2nd black vehicle, so why does she have to leave once back-up is there to watch her? Follow the logic – she needs to leave so I’m safe on my own – now I’m not alone she still needs to leave (why?) But now she can stay there because he’s getting his desirse fulfilled by obtaining her ID… Does she need to leave or not?

Why are all cops so emotionally unstable and unable to communicate with the public in the way a “peace” officer or public servant should?
Keep in mind they are trained to act on fear. Nothing at all like military. We trained to run towards the fight not shit our britches on a traffic stop with two harmless ladies.
It’s seriously like they go out of their way to imagine new ways to earn the hate daily.
That training session sounded like they are creating heartless killers.
The saying “back the blue until it happens to you” is catchy and clever, however, this is one I don’t have to learn in the School of Hard Knocks, ty!
“In this day and age” ALWAYS LOCK YOUR CAR DOORS AND KEEP THEM LOCKED!!
Dude is literally making shit up as he goes: “Not within two car’s lengths.” Maybe he has depth-perception issues too.
Since when did it become illegal to pull on the shoulder of the road?
Sister: “What law am I breaking?” Cop: “It’s not safe.”
Are they really training him to “can I shoot a child?” That is very concerning.
“We investigated ourselves, and found we did NOTHING wrong!” What do you suppose would happen to you if you slammed a cops door on him like that?
Cops should be fearful for their life when they act like this.
I think of that young child in their mothers back seat, who now is probably afraid of police, and now knows their true behavior.
I was once in that child’s shoes. Only we were in our kitchen and my dad went out on the porch to speak to a sharpsville police officer. The discussion got heated and the cop assaulted my dad with his huge mag flashlights from the 90s. When they got a warrant and broke into our home they pointed a shotguns at my mom and us kids! Yeah really wonderful experience. Back the blue until it happens to you.
Can you only imagine the shit they got away with before the advent of body cameras and cell phone cameras. It must’ve been a great time for the cops being able to do anything they want to do. Watching this video makes my blood boil.
Thatinstigate. They are the lowest form of citizen.
Yes, officer safety is the most important consideration. And remember, there are only twenty-two other professions in the US that are more dangerous ..
Nothing’s going to change until we do away with qualified immunity
After watching these videos, I am surprised we are not reading about more cops getting smoked EVERY day. These guys are out of control.
Almost as if they get paid exclusively to escalate
If witnesses make you nervous you’re up to no good.. this video defines why cops hate cameras!

Cop 101:

Cop 101: always escalate. Always use violence. Always earn the hate
@12:20 James claims that she has the right to be there but be wary of that advice, you might risk some trouble. Audit the audit covered this video also where he explains why the cops may have the authority to ask her to leave the scene.
Isn’t it just so awesome how they make up their own rules laws and just escalate situations out of control. I know for a fact they’re taught how to escalate situations they’re not taught how to deescalate because none of them know how to do that.
I love the ones where they got the body cam footage because that means they’ve already taken the first step towards suing the department.
When his superiors hear his language saying” I don’t give a fuck” he should be fired on the spot.
“I run tags all day long” ….. this is what really happens!
Same thing happened when my wife was following me and got pulled over. I pulled over. The cop approached my wife’s car. Then he walked up to me. I said, “She’s following me to my parents house. She’s never been there before.” The cop said, “OK, she was speeding. I’ll be done in a minute.” That was it. No big deal. That was before cell phones and digital maps.
Here’s the bottom line everybody!
1. We know how they’re trained
2. We know they’re not responsible for our safety anymore.
3. We know they are allowed to lie to our faces legally.
4. We know they use terry stops, and Call it officer safety.
5. We know they’re protected by police unions.
6. We know they are protected by qualified immunity.
7. We know that they police themselves any time a complaint comes in.
8. We know that most of the people they pick on have no money to protect themselves.
9. They know when they do get caught, the people, cities and counties, and insurance companies, pay for their mistakes.
10. That’s why we are considered guilty until proven innocent.
11. We know we are on trial every time we’re pulled over. So as you can see everything is automatically stacked against us. Yes we have rights, yes we have the constitution, but when you’re guilty until proven innocent our system is broken. Our forefathers would be rolling in their graves, when they see the leaders of this country stomping on our God-given rights. As a country at this time we are all in grave danger. Our system has turned against us. The sad thing is we have allowed it, and we pay for it financially, emotionally, and physically.

Imagine how this would of have gone without bodycam, we know how! They would of beaten that woman probably murdered her and claim she was reaching for his gun or she assaulted him or some bullshit excuse. Man something needs to be done.
For “Officer safety” gives them illusion of unlimited power. The training video clearly showed they’re trained to be aggressive tyrants.
8:00 I don’t know you. You don’t know me. That justifies the officers fear in his eyes but somehow doesn’t justify her being afraid and having someone nearby keeping an eye out for her. It used to be witnesses were a good thing.
What if the toddler had a gun. That officer is so brave. Putting his life on the line to keep the community safe from disabled moms and kids. He should get an accomodation for bravery.
You don’t have to identify simply because they’re a law enforcement officer.. You have the right to be to be secure in your papers and documents..
I’m more than a little concerned that the cops in this town (and probably others) are just randomly running plates as they drive around, without actually having a valid reason to do so….then initiating traffic stops without a violation having been committed…looks like a revenue generating scheme to me…
At about 7:00 punk cop admits there’s no reason for him to go to the other car! And if you look close at the image of other cars four or five car lengths away! Why would you be afraid…… your bullets would travel much more distance then that!
It appears that officer is putting everyone in danger with not only his behavior, but because he is not taken care of the reason he pulled her over and getting them underway.
He sounded drunk and extremely childlike. His partner was just an idiot. The Sergeant has allowed this Officer to escalate a peaceful situation and made a fool out of the whole Police Department. This all reflects on the Chief and the Mayor.
That guy’s voice started quaking as soon as his he felt his supposed authority being questioned. He’s obviously intimidated by women. And, while I’m not saying this as fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if he suffered from some kind of extreme abuse at some point, if it’s not ongoing at home. He needs to undergo a full psychological evaluation by a 3rd party professional to determine whether or not he’s fit for duty. Pretty scary that someone that emotionally compromised is carrying a firearm in the line of duty.
So from the get go he used a questionable tactic to get her pulled over with the running random tags without any laws being broken.
It’s not safe for you to be here! 🤯 What happened to protect & serve?!!! You’re always safe w us heroes! 😵‍💫
I do think the officers could have been more professional and could have handled it differently, but what it boils down too is this lady was obstructing the traffic stop by her very presence. She’s causing the officers attention to be diverted to her instead of the vehicle that he stopped.
she was well above the 10 ft recommendation. she should have gotten out on the public roadside and recorded him, from a safe distance.
The true fact is they hate accountability and they hate it more when citizens know more than they do. In today’s society it’s more dangerous to be a citizen stop by the police, than it is to be a Police Officer, especially when the Police ask you to get out of your car in any situation.
That fear-based training tho.
“Not within 2 car lengths of my traffic stop”. SUV is at least 4 car lengths away. The officer’s complaint with the other vehicle is with the other driver, not the driver he pulled over and harrassed. The officer was unnecessarily prolonging the detainment. The police officer has obvious anger issues. He will likely be the cause of unnecessary harm to citizens in the future. Wow, he even tries to slam the vehicle door on the woman. The police officer has more to worry about with all of the moving vehicles driving by than the woman who pulled over in wait for her sister.
Asserting your rights makes these tyrants soooo mad
I like when police say their recording the interaction you after wait 2 or 3 years to get it and pay over hundreds dollars
Florida Statute 901.151, no crime no ID gets null and voided when a cops ego is shattered.
“I’ll explain it to you later “. Uh no sir. Explain it to me first then I’ll know if I’m legally obligated to cooperate!
I don’t get why he’s yelling from 40ft away trying to tell the black car to go and then telling the women in the white car that the black car has to leave but never actually goes to the black car and tells it to leave. He’s just got ego issues.
Embarrassing, disgusting and unprofessional are the kinder words I would use to describe the tyrant cops behaviour. A textbook example of how to turn decent people against cops.
I feel bad for his family. all of their families.
I the police exam needs to include questions to test the canidate’s undersanding as to why ciruclar reasoning is absurd.

6 Cops Lose Qualified Immunity in Lawsuit – For Not Understanding Basic Law

“HES STILL TALKING! HES STILL TALKING!!” Almost like they’ve never heard of the Constitution before…
Respect Mr Wood for standing up for his rights. The fact that he had to seek an appeal shows how some Judges, who have time to research the law, can still be as corrupt as local Law Enforcement.
What is insane is this happened 6 years ago and it’s still not resolved, that is the definition of a broken system if I ever saw one
Let’s hope this sets a precedence about the blatant misuse of “qualified immunity”!!! This is one of the biggest problems with police today! Their blatant disregard for we the people where they break laws and violate our rights with impunity!
5:32 “Sarge, what are we doing, he’s talking the whole way out the door?”. In other words, he’s using his 1st amendment rights as he’s advocating for the constitution, should we arrest him? Has to be the most egregious and asinine shyt I’ve ever heard from another officer.
The fact that the department still defends their actions is troubling to me and indicates as an entire department, they are unqualified to do their jobs. This seems to be a case for the Justice Dept. to step in and take over the department, since the department has chosen to admit that they are either unaware of the constitution or unwilling to support it. They have admitted guilt to the public.
So let me get this straight, they want to arrest him for wearing a shirt and talking while leaving like he was asked? When did wearing a shirt become against the law? How do they not understand the damn Constitution? The pride and ego of these officers is just mind blowing… What’s so funny is their actions just proved why he wore the shirt that he did so they actually proved his point…
3 courts heard all arguments and only 1 took into consideration all facts and circumstances revolving around this incident. Fair and equal, or justly corrupt? You take what you will from having 2 different courts attempt to summarize punishment enforced on those who willingly conduct themselves as tyrants, only to have 1 man never back down and prove just how deep their tarnished code runs.
That is so pathetic and terrifying at the same time, that the sheriffs office think they did nothing wrong by violating a citizens God given protected rights.
It’s sad that these egregious cases have to move so high up in the courts to be appropriately adjudicated. This was an absolute slam dunk violation yet the DA’s and lower court judges conspire to deny the blatant, obvious criminality of the LEO’s in the hopes that the average citizen will give up and the acts will go unpunished and unpaid.
That man is a patriot standing up to an overreaching government.
If the cops stuck to law enforcement they would be OK, but they enforce feelings and what they think are community standards and that’s where they go wrong. They don’t know the difference….escalate every situation is all they’re capable of over and over and over !
No matter which auditor’s video I watch, such video taken in any number of states from coast to coast, the general ignorance of the average police officer when it comes to Constitutional rights is appalling. Such ignorance has to be a major contributing factor leading to the disconnect between law-abiding citizens and police personnel across the country. It is, in some cases, downright scary.

5 1/2 years and no resolution?! Our Justice system has a HUGE problem.
I’m a retired cop. I can tell you that years ago my training officer told me to develop some seriously thick skin!! I was taught to uphold the laws and not let my feelings (or anyone else’s) get the better of me. In turn, I trained my rookies in the same manner I was trained. I can honestly tell you I never made an arrest because my feelings or anyone else’s may have been bruised. I never let my ego get the better of me. Did I make mistakes; of course but I learned from them but at my expense and not at the expense of a citizen. I wish him all the luck with his legal action against the officers and the department. Take them for all they’re worth and continue to stand up cor your rights!

Ah,so glad to hear this!! If they would learn the laws and uphold those laws everything would be ok. But no! END QUALIFIED IMMUNITY!! I don’t understand how the lower courts constantly get it wrong!
Notice how long it’s taken this one to progress through the courts? Happened in 2016 and it’s now finally making its way to court to be tried!
Imagine if he was black.

Officer John Smyly Throws a Temper Tantrum And Pretends He’s Scared To Excuse Pulling A Gun

John Smyly, a former Boulder Colorado Police officer detains a man, Zayde Atkinson with no RAS. When he refuses to ID the way the cop wants him to, John Smyly escalates the situation. He tries to make his victim sit like a dog, for no reason other than to assert dominance over him. When Zayde Atkinson refuses, Smyly threatens to tase him. When Zayde continues to refuse to be John Smyly’s b****, Smyly brandished a fire arm to try to further intimidate his victim into compliance. The man he tried to bully and intimidate, Zayde Atkinson, NEVER gave in. Smyly was allowed to resign, and is likely working for another department at this time. If you know what department Smyly is working it, please email that information to realjamesfreeman@gmail.com, so I can publicly publish that information, warning potential new victims.

ID Refusal by Boulder Colorado man, Zayde Atkinson results in threats and officer John Smyly brandishing a fire arm.

Comments

I remember this video when it first released these cops are just so utterly pathetic it’s disgusting and it really isn’t going to stop until we stand up and physically defend ourselves

Why was he allowed to resign? Should have been stripped of all official credentials. And then jailed for up to ten years.
I’ve seen this video maybe six times at this point since it was originally released and the more times I watch it the more absurd it becomes. This video is a perfect example where you could be minding your business not breaking any law and even going out of your way above and beyond to placate a psycho in a costume and still almost become a murder victim on the street by that psycho in a costume.
And they wonder why people hate the police.
There isn’t any manner you can perform any action in this country that LE can’t twist into something suspicious.
They keep asking him to “sit down” as in their eyes that’s him submitting to them and they win their sick mind games.
Even the cop apologists think the police are terrorists… They say, if you obey and submit then you will prevent the violence that is otherwise guaranteed.
>> Rapist mentality. See what you made me do?
When a cop knows he is being unlawful but continues the lie anyway
This cop Escalated that whole situation!
What is most scary is that, to become a judge takes between 8/10 years training, it takes between 6/8 years to become a lawyer. But it only takes around 6 months to become a LEO’s. This in itself is just crazy, how can a LEO’s understand law & enforce such law with minimum training is beggars belief. It’s like getting children being in charge to educate adults in how to be an adult. It’s a system that is programed to fail. Crazy world hey.

They should be handing out deadly buckets and ‘garbage picker-uppers’ to officers.
“Sorry, you cleaning up trash at is suspicious behavior. We need to treat you like a threat now” – Police 2022
Even “if” he was trespassing on private property he was picking up trash on private property… Um that’s a good thing right?!
I didn’t realize that he gave him an ID with his name….he still escalated this situation?!
What people don’t understand that these type of interactions happen more often then people think. James keep up your good work and fight for liberty and justice and to keep cops in check. 🇺🇸
Wow the Ego just doesn’t stop with this cop. I’m proud of how this man handled the unwelcome invasion of government on HIS property. 👍🏼
“All you have to do is comply”. Sounds familiar “……once compliance becomes part of the culture” – Boston Mayor Michelle Wu
Oldie but a goodie, Almost certainly got picked up by another department
That got my blood boiling. Hats off to this guy for refusing to sit like an obedient dog!
This guy was awesome the way he stood up for his rights. Imagine how many people get violated by police because they don’t know their rights or are just afraid. Always film police!!
And a half dozen cops with itchy-fingers surround him waiting for an excuse to gun him down, and frightening what law enforcement has evolved to and they wonder why targets are on their backs now.
Tasers are a training tool, much like the collar on your puppy… it speaks a universal language of, “do what I say, or you’re gonna get zapped again until you learn”,…. Understandably there are instances when it’s ABSOLUTELY necessary for such activities. “Get on the ground because I said so”, probably isn’t one of those,……

I was just gonna say the same thing! The bootlickers that “just comply” and don’t know there rights are the reason we are in the situation we are now.
And just think, this is just “1” instance of this kind of abuse brought to light. Gotta wonder how many events like this end very differently because somebody refuses to comply with an “unlawful” order by a uniformed bully with a badge. This event should have been career ending for psycho shoat!
It’s called harassing people just because he wants to prove the point he’s wrong
Cops remind me of terrible poker players. They bet too big, too early with an extraordinarily weak hand and get pot committed to where they must go all in in with no chance of winning. It’s also hilarious at 18:25 how the cop sneaks up on the bucket and the grabber like it’s actually a dangerous item
“We see you out here picking up trash and that’s clearly a sign of a hardened criminal.”
I can’t remember how many times I’ve watched this… but each and every time I’m left with a definite fact: This college student is a Psychology Major!!! It’s confirmed each and every time he asks the officer, “and how do you feel about that?”
There’s a far more dangerous cop running around Colorado. His name is Chris Dickey and he’s cost taxpayers over $1,000,000 in lawsuits (He and his partner murdered a suicidal veteran having a PTSD episode, he and his partner severely beat a motorist who had a diabetic episode and crashed, he deployed a taser on a protester on public property who didn’t ID) and I believe he’s a deputy in Grand County.
100% ego!!! The fact that he can’t let it go even when told to by his supervisor means he WILL KILL SOMEONE one-day. Count on it.
They know he’s no threat but they are obsessed with getting him to sit down as they see that as him submitting.
I’ve seem this video so many times, I can literally say every word they say in unison. Thing is , even after all those views, all those channels, I STILL find it one of the most telling videos on there right now. It shows broken police policies and behaviors. How they can turn anything Into a weapon, a crime, constitutional violation, and the other cops question nothing. The fact ONLY one officer was fired is Insane. He was the sacrifice, but all the others went with it. If it wasn’t for the bodycam, witnesses, and cameras on the cops, that kid would have been beaten , razed, or even shot. Ridiculous, every one of them should be fired and charged.

I’ve already watched this video and a few other similar ones, so I think it’s advisable for people to carry the documentation of their properties or lease contracts under their arm or they risk being arrested for trespassing in their own home. How can there be a trespassing crime without the owner requesting it??????????????????
Notice that as soon as the other cops arrive the trash grabber changes from “weapon” to “object”, he knew he was being an absurd liar.
Wow that crazy story he tells his manager is insane. Guy it’s all on camera.
There was absolutely no reason for this cop to even speak to this guy.
Notice how he described the grabbed as “sort of a blunt object”. That’s the games these thugs play.
According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Smyly was hired in January on a two-year term position as a civilian training and development coordinator in the sheriff’s computer support unit. As of 9 22 20 Boulder Daily Camera
These trash grabbers are so common officer tyrant knows exactly what he’s holding.
COP= Control Obsessed Psycho
Pro active policing …? What interaction about this footage was positive? ~ I wonder if this cop still to this day thinks what he did was lawful and if he has any regrets?
my favorite part is the jump in logic that not only someone must be trespassing if he thinks they are, but that a trespasser showed up to pick up trash illegally.
Accusation before investigation! Guilty before proven innocent! How much training is needed to understand the mistakes in these two statements?
“He was sitting around, milling about with a metal thing and banging it on another thing near a no trespassing sign” ..”your partner just confirmed he lives here”.. ” I dont know who he is”. The copsplaining is insane here. “We cant even talk unless you are in the sitting position i commanded you to take, even though this entire encounter is unlawful from the start and I already had confirmation of the info I obtained on unlawful premises”. Further sad was the citizen telling this victim to chill out.
The cop could have easily went inside and investigated but it’s easier for them to intimidate someone into a confession. It’s to expensive for most people to afford a lawyer so they plea or confess. The plea or confession also prevents civil action, thus reinforcing the officers actions.
Hey isn’t it cute how the state will show up on your property and Surround you and point their guns at you while claiming you are a threat but if you do it to them while being armed only with your first amendment they claim it’s insurgence or disturbing the peace
This is an insane abuse of power. This cop has probably always “felt threatened” in his life. Should have never been a cop.
“This officer was ready to kill me sir” a powerful statement indubitably. 👏
That police officer should not have been allowed to resign, he should have been fired and charged for his crimes, but the thin blue line protected him.
James don’t forget it’s the “day and age we live in” that’s the cousin to the”you got id”. That shit is highly addictive, hopefully in the future it’ll wipes out every pig and piglet suffering from this addiction.
Love this man’s courage to stand up for his rights, every cop on this call should be fired for not insisting that this pig stop this completely illegal detainment also he lied about what he observed right from the get go
I’ve seen this one before. This guy was great. He had the guts to back down eight cops with their guns drawn. It’s so important to let cops know their power is limited. They aren’t kings who can do what ever they please.
I’ve seen this before and it’s infuriating. This is called, “being within sight of a cop while black“. This cop should do jail time. I counted six cops there surrounding this lawful citizen and not one had the decency to tell that POS ENOUGH. They are all sick and when you are in contact with one, no matter what the situation, your life is in danger. Only dangerous, sick people seek the job of a cop. I won’t change my mind about how unstable cops are until they LEAVE people who are not breaking the law alone. I think I’ll be waiting a long time.
I remember watching this video when it first came out. Watching it again pissed me off just as much. Who is this cop who thinks he can go around asking Americans if they belong on any property when there was no 911 call. He’s totally on an ego trip. Guy with a stick was never close enough to him to be justified in shooting him. Idiot
I love how the young man vehemently stood up for himself. I hope these officers hear his voice on repeat every time they fuck up. “How do feel? How do feel now? How do feel about that?”
i love how he just twisted a lil bit of the details to his encounter with him… was so butt hurt he couldn’t get his DOB and make him sit on the ground like a dog
Why tf would their cameras ever have a mute button? Or right , the game is rigged
In defense of an officer please refer to these Redcoats as Redcoats or other demeaning terms of authoritarian revenue collectors!
I wonder how a cop would feel if the person he was confronting gave a call and people start emerging from all round, surround the cop? It is downright creepy how they do this. What is worse is that no-one questions or clarifies the call out.
I’ve seen this ….. blatent harassment …. ego driven , the nerve to call the garbage tool a weapon !!! …..
“He had a metal object stabbing, I didn’t know if he was damaging something. ….then I noticed it is used to pick up trash ….then he picked up the metal object again “ His lies are SO EASILY detectable! 😣😣😣
As much as I appreciate the time and effort and activism…I really can’t watch to many more of these vids without pulling my hair out . Needs to be something done about it other then just an awareness . Before certain entities start getting splattered .
That young man is a REAL American, standing up for his rights!!
I remember seeing this the day it was originally uploaded.. Boulder and Denver cops still haven’t changed. Shit is sad.
I love when a cop says “subject is failing to comply “it almost like cops think citizens are slaves to them..!!!
My favorite line is when the victim says that the cop had his gun out and the cop says “it wasn’t even pointed at you” as if that makes it all OK
Qualified IMPUNITY on display!
* According to a news article* “Smyly resigned prior to the conclusion of the disciplinary process, but police indicated the process would have likely resulted in suspension or termination. As part of a settlement with the city, Smyly remained under city employment until February as he exhausted accrued holiday, sick and administrative leave. According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Smyly was hired in January on a two-year term position as a civilian training and development coordinator in the sheriff’s computer support unit.” Be careful that he is not hired again with the police dept. when this 2 year temp job is finished.

You very accurately indicated the Crucible method of policing… They make the citizen try to prove their innocence
All channels of this type constantly say, “cops dont know the law,” and things like that…. This is not true, cops do know at least the basics. Some just choose to constantly do the wrong thing because they have no consequences.
I remember this video. The ego on Smyly was out of control. Zane should have made Smyly hand him his bucket and trash picker upper. The fact that Smyly wouldn’t give the ID back after his supervisor told him to was insane. The fact this egomaniac is in another department and still terrorizing other citizens is scary. Agree 100% cops should not be allowed to mute thier BWC for a certain time before, during an interaction, and a certain point of time after. I can’t remember for sure but I think Zane (the guy harassed by Smyly) did sue. Would be nice if Smyly had to apologize and pay some sort of damage out of his own pocket. This whole interaction was disturbing.
I remember this video a long time ago, with over 1 million views…This officer is upset because Mr Atkinson refused to listen to unlawful order
The victim had 2 weapons, common sense and a brain. Both lethal to today’s cops.
When dirty cops are not held accountable. We The people will hold them accountable. One way or another
The danger in calling backup for a noncompliant man with a weapon… If he did get hurt or killed as a consequence he’d make excuses and blame the victim
Imagine telling a dude that is cleaning dirt in front of a building that he is trespassing. Like, do people just go to other peoples property and clean their trash??
I never understood why this officer harasses this citizen… we also know had the guy given his name, the officer would have wanted to “pat him down”. What’s worse is once they knew he lived there they should have left right then and there.
Apart from the fact that he has no legal obligation to identify, having his name in a database is not a good idea. If he is stopped in the future and his name ran, he will come under greater scrutiny having been checked for a “crime” previously. This can, at the least cost him his time or give them time to find a crime.
When I see someone picking up trash at daytime, with earphones on, I immediately think “This guy’s looking to rob the place for sure”.
If this is how this thug acts at work just imagine if he has a spouse, kids, or a pet and what they might go through.
This is the 3rd or 4th time ive seen this video. Thankfully the citizen wasn’t hurt. It shows so many aspects of poor policing. No crime was reported. No crime committed. Muting of bodycam. Escalation by police officer. Its really quite sad.
How can any of the other deputies be taken seriously after this? I would look at them and laugh.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the young man switched his major so he could become a civil rights attorney.
If I were a cop, which will never happen, and I were one of the policemen that later showed up, I would’ve had the courage to speak up and say, “This is stupid let’s leave this guy alone”, but none of them have the backbone to do so.
You should have demanded he surrender his certification as part of the settlement, I guarantee he is still doing this kind of behavior and has already corrupted another department!
18:26 Officer Sneaky creeping up on the bucket and claw like it was a Western Brown snake and he was fixin’ to wrangle it. Instead he committed a fourth amendment violation by seizing the man’s property.
20:43 If you haven’t figured it out yet Smyly, you have shown that you are a) incompetent, and b) not at all capable of figuring this situation out, and never will.
23:19 No, Smyly, you did not “contact him”. There was no touching between you and the man whom you trespassed upon.
The officer initial officer tells the sergeant I recognize it’s a device to pick up trash but then a sentence later he says picks up the object because the officer realized he f*** up when he said the guy had a weapon. He just admitted to the sergeant that prior to him making the call for back up he knew that it was a device to pick up trash. No wonder the guy got fired
Anyone want to know what a police state looks like? Watch this video again… This confrontation was a “near death” experience.
This video is still really frustrating to watch. “I didn’t even point my gun at you sir!” The fuck? Let’s see your reaction when someone brandishes a hand gun!
This cop thinks he’s the hero we deserve and without his intervention the city would crumble. James Madison audits just posted a video with officer Velez. Velez has the same hero complex and it’s just a matter of time before he pulls some crazy shit like smyly
The officer says he has a gun in his hand because you’re not listening, I didn’t know guns were hearing devices.
THE COP HAD NO BUSINESS ASKING HIM ANYTHING. He gave him the apartment. Number already a long time ago.
No this officer didn’t get the privilege of going to a new department, BLM made great changes to policing in America with those billions of dollars they raised. For example, BLM changed who and how settlements we’re paid, who and how cops are investigated, cops that violate rights lose their pension. There’s a whole slew of things BLM changed with all that money and destruction.
Anybody ever see how flimsy those grabber things are?
If he quit which he did it allows him to still be rehired by another agency or the next city over
If he quit which he did it allows him to still be rehired by another agency or the next city over

Are these Police officers just that ignorant?

When a cop says he’s not gonna argue with you, it’s because he knows he’s violating your rights and that he’s wrong. He’ll just throw you in a cage regardless, and let you have your day in court. Take away their precious qualified immunity, and watch the magic happen.
Sadly, this cop has been doing this to citizens for years, totally ignorant of the law. They, however, messed with the wrong guy.
I love it when an arrogant tyrant is SO sure of himself he openly mocks someone who knows the law and his mouth walks himself right off the cliff. His frequent comments about YouTube and his “I know this isn’t working out like you expected” comment is just icing on the cake. I’m having a very hard time not jumping to the original video… so I hope Part 3 is out soon! 😂😉👍
Wow this officer’s ignorance of the law is embarrassing and his arrogance is shameful! This video will follow him for the rest of his career.
I can’t imagine how many lives this cop has ruined and I hope he is no longer in a position of authority and no longer has the ability to interact with anyone.
The “1 bad apple” philosophy is probably the scariest part of this for me. As a sargent the amount of other officers he may have influenced is terrifying. When you multiply that exponentially to who those officers have influenced it seems the cancer of ignorance is going to spread far faster than the education he received here.
“Investigatively Detained?” In other words, we have no lawful reason so we’re trying to find one. 🤷
One of the things I love about Batman is , he is a bonafide auditor. A real auditor is never afraid of being arrested when he or she knows the law is on his/her side. Stand your ground and get paid later. What baffles me is the prosecutors who actually agree to prosecute cases like these. If a prosecutor is stupid enough to accept a case like this, he or she should be disbarred.
I’ve learn so much watching these videos. I’m baffled as to why there are so many audit videos showing Officers who clearly has no knowledge of the law, violating the rights of citizens and yet there has been no changes to Law Enforcement at all. There are some good cops but 95% of them are nothing more than ignorant bullies with a badge and gun.
Good grief, the condescending attitude is just DRIPPING off of this cop. He couldn’t be any more arrogant and aloof if he tried.
The “pat down” in itself is a violation of the fourth amendment. They had no ras of a crime, no ras of a weapon and no ras that you are dangerous. Therefore no lawful terry stop or terry frisk. Both are four amendment violations and the in pocket search was the third violation.
They are so intoxicated with their opportunity to use force, they imagine their interpretation of law is absolute.
I’m sure they were thinking they will record with your camera, for you, to show off that they are not kicking the crap out of you, like they normally do.
We will violate your rights until we get what we want …….. earning the hate
This man is brilliant. I don’t know how he kept a straight face knowing the ramifications of the situation and the way the officer did all of his work for him
4:004:36 The cop’s rant is priceless and unfortunately for him will live forever. The level of disdain and ignorance is astounding, but unfortunately, common. The stupidity on display…..wow.
Qualified Immunity. That’s why they do what they do. Sovereign citizens
The officer’s arrogant confidence suggests the “Dunning–Kruger effect” (https://youtu.be/VyipktSZUlQ) is in play. Turner’s quiet confidence, on the other hand, demonstrates genuine competence.
4:11 We all know what he meant by that. These cops are criminals/bullies with badges.
So this officer is essentially saying he’s been violating citizens rights a lot longer than you’ve been exercising yours. What a damn shame. Hopefully his retirement is right around the corner!
They knew who he was.! Was clearly a violation of his rights! It was totally because they knew he is a 1st amendment auditor and are trying to punish him.
I love how this ignorant cop keeps saying he’s not going to argue Or debate this, because at the end of the day he knows he’s wrong.
It’s amazing how confident he is, I’ve never seen someone so confident that they are completely right but in reality he’s 100% wrong.
He keeps telling the other officers to do the stuff he wants to do. Wtf. Do it yourself. You afraid of losing that qualified immunity?
suspicion is not a crime and filming in public has been deemed, by the supreme court, a non-suspicious activity and protected under the law and constitution.
I think the reason these cops were so bold and seemed to relish helping you record had nothing to do with them understanding ANY of your rights…in my opinion it’s all about them believing they can get away with anything they do!
He doesn’t want to argue or debate, because he knows he will lose. I would love to read every cops report on this incident? I wonder how many lies!
I am always amazed at how good auditors stay so completely calm. I hope you end up with a civil rights case because when these just go away by having a complaint go into a file things won’t ever change
It’s refreshing to see this police officer inform you of who you are and what you’re all about involving YouTube just to get clicks and views can’t wait for part 3
Love your break down. You’d think the cops would use this as a training video, but they are too arrogant, and too stupid to learn from their bountiful lies, violations of TX law and violations of Tx penal code.
After years of getting glee watching some cop watchers, 1A auditors, and then getting burned out and getting irritated with it all, I can say Battousai stands the test of time. No one being honest can say he’s being problematic, he is straight forward and as Texans would say a “straight shooter”. In fact, if I were to hear he resisted or was combative or inflammatory I would know it’s horse shit. Batman is an S tier auditor/cop watcher.
This is the type of cop that they need to use as an example make an example out of him by firing him if he doesn’t know the law
He literally admitted that he has been violating rights longer than you have been doing youtube.
They think they’re not giving you want you want just because they’re not being physically violent. :/
As a veteran I was fortunate to be able to serve overseas going to Kuwait and patrolling the boarder to Iraq. I’m proud to have served to protect our country and constitution and what it stands for and if it means anything to you, I’m proud of you too. You’re professionalism and bearing exuded towards these bullies is commendable . I want to thank you for your service. Respect…
I’m uncomfortable with how he’s feeling you up. Why he keep touching your junk again and again
They just know they aren’t accountable for breaking the law and or violating the people’s civil rights. that’s why they recorded this interaction with your own cell, it’s a way of saying we’re above the law and there’s nothing you can do about it. BULLIES WITH A BADGE.
What a pack of cowards! Afraid of one unarmed man, that they feel they need to lock his arms behind his back. Pure cowardice.
Guaranteed these same cops are doing exactly the same today to people who don’t know their rights
They’re just not smart enough to figure it out, and knowing there will be no consequences for their actions, there’s no reason to waste their time learning it. Harass, violate, repeat.
Once they start, their ego will not allow them to back down. They will keep trying to get you to willingly ID. Please never ID when you know there is no law broken.
Unbelievable he‘s holding you hostage they’re not taking you to jail they’re holding you hostage in their car until you ID to them wow the corruption is thick in the officers listening to this bullies orders will soon will regret it
This totally validated the Auditing community for doing what they do. There is a very strong need to fix what we see here. Cops either totally not knowing the law or cops totally violating peoples rights thinking it will be with impunity.
ID is like crack to a cop. Haha. Good one. I’ve always wondered how an ID helps their investigation 99% of the time.
I’ve been watching these videos now for like 4 years I have not seen one cop especially the ones who said they know the law better than you who actually knows the law what is the ignorance where does it come from their schooling their training their pride their what????!!!
To think you can identify a guy for filming and that’s suppose to let you know what he’s doing 😆 strip a law abiding citizen of his freedom because they feel like it smh
It’d be interesting to wear only a gold thong while auditing and see if they still frisk you for weapons and ID.
This tyrant is drunk on power.
This guy likes to talk, but makes his goons do all the violating. Maybe it was a secrete audit. He says all the wrong things on purpose to see if his subordinates would do the right thing and question him. The officer who went in your pockets and the officer who buckled you in did cross those lines by themselves.
0:15, Guys go ahead and frisk him.
1:25, If he wont do it willingly handcuff him.
2:28, If he has an ID we have every right to look at it.
3:59, Go ahead and put him in handcuffs and we can do it (detain him) until we find him on the system.
5:50, Hook him up. (that sounds like an arrested to me)
8:44, Have him sit in the back of the car and lets go ahead an figure out who he is. Handcuffed and buckled up in a police cruiser, a reasonable person would believe they are under arrest not simply detained. But they did put you in the front seat so maybe a little gray area.
So voluntarily give up a right or forcefully have it violated… Ah thats how freedom works
If they repeatedly bring up the YouTube videos and see what the outcomes are. It shows they are unwilling to educate themselves and need to be removed from the position.
As kids we had terms for people who cried about every little thing. We called them piss ant crybabies. The majority of these cops are just trying to protect our community. If you stop messing with them maybe you will have time to invent a robot that wont make mistakes. But until then, having human cops is as good as it gets.
I have never been a proponent of defunding the police. I am still not one. However I am for abolishing qualified immunity for any officer that violates the freedom of a law abiding citizen. If this is protecting and serving then we need to let those officers go because who can point out the good officers in this situation? For those who say just comply with unlawful, unconstitutional orders. You are a part of the problem. Law enforcement work for the citizens they are not nor should they ever be considered overlords. When that happens, we no longer have a free society. We then are worse than Hitler or Mao.
They need a crime to detain you and for a Terry stop. A Terry stop is a frisk, not a search.

6 Police Officers Respond to a Freedom of Information Request

It took 45 minutes, 6 police officers, and 5 office staff to field a FOIA request.

The police wanted to solicit a disorderly conduct charge because he swore and talked back to them after the clerk invocked his mom.

Comments

how many helpful cops does it take to get a signed copy of a FOIA request?

I know some people will give this auditor a hard time about professionalism but the female clerk mentioned something about the auditors mother. The disrespect and unprofessionalism by the clerk was uncalled for and the give what you give approach is what this auditor did. Some people do like this style while some do not.

If you give an inch they take a mile. This guy shows the power of knowing your rights. He completely mentally disarmed about 6 different police officers in a 20 minute video. People get the same respect they give and that clerk is rude as hell.

I don’t understand why so many people in the public think this guy isn’t trying to protect their rights? People will say “ oh he’s just trying to be trouble” when in reality if the public workers treated the way they do everyone without a camera nothing would have happened but paying getting his copy and leaving. Why does a camera mean he doesn’t get served or cops called on him?

these cops were just there to help this guy 🤣🤣🤣 kinda like when i paid $197 jaywalking fine in pennies

Another example of a “under resourced” dept that can spare 6 officers to stand and do nothing, for no legitimate reason

4:53 Cops will always interrupt, or turn their attention elsewhere whenever a member of the public tries to educate them on case law…

many ignorant cops in one place who ask questions and do not listen to so they just keep harassing this law abiding citizen

I love this guy. It is so crazy that people want to work for the public, but hate the public. She needs to be fired and the officers re-educated on the law and Constitution. They called the cops over hurt feelings and the idiot cops showed up and tried to enforce the “feelings”.

“don’t you want us to help you?”
“no”
that question backfired on that cop lmaooo

Not to be as dramatic as John Filax but any time a cop says “okay” they know the game is over and all they can do is save face by escalating.

Funny how all these incidents start from people being in their feelings.

As a retired police officer, with over 20 years of service. This video is 100% correct. I was constantly, battling my “alleged” superiors (they hated me), over what the law states vs. their personal opinion. So many times, I was told/ordered… “Do as I say, not as I do” Ad-nauseum! That’s why I retired early. I worked for three separate departments and they were “ALL” the same! The only thing I learned I was going to continue to do, what was right (follow the law). Not what was popular by a bunch of ignorant/god complex supervisors. Supervisors who were the first to put an officer under the bus to avoid taking responsibility for their own actions! That’s known as… A FACT! I speak from over 20 years of dealing with that CRAP!!!

the only way this will stop is if it is MANDATORY that all cops state the actual law that is being broken when first contacted. Then if your recording you have the so called law on record. On traffic stops the first thing out of the officers mouth should be why he or she pulled you over. If not stated then the driver should be let go.Also needs a law that cops cannot touch your vehicle at any time during the stop. Always seemed to me of planting evidence on personal property.

When cops start losing the argument they go straight to open ended questions in the hopes that if they do it long enough you will eventually lose patience and THEN they get you for disorderly, etc.

he is well known to the police there. he has the right to get the video anonymously and thats why he asked for it anonymously , not because he need to stay anonymous. the video he asked for is from a police station where police attacked him without he doing anything wrong. (they ambushed him also on the streets, crazy ambush without warning) thats why it took so long to get this video, the police fucked up big time there and he has all on video. the whole town conspires against this man, the city attorney, the police ,… i went in rabbit hole on his channel the other day and thats one crazy ride all his intereactions with public servants on this matter. i can say you this man has absolutely no fear and this story will be a good one, because he documents every step and he does his law suit and complain every time and he will win in the end-

I cant believe it takes that many people for one simple request.

This is what happens when people take the attitude of: “we talk; you listen”. If instead one or two of these employees had spent a little more energy listening then they would not take an hour to produce a copy of a piece of paper.

They tactically surrounded you. You should’ve questioned them on their hostility. There was no need for that.

I would strongly advise the auditor to always bring a friend, and have that friend be completely silent while recording

“Give what you get” is one of the first principles that kids learn in kindergarten. As they mature, some kids learn that they can better accomplish their goals by not playing or joining in that game.

He should have at least let the cops know the clerk was talking about his mother, and so he was returning that vibe.

How many cops does it take to screw with a photographer? The world may never know

The best part is you had six police officers ask you if you needed help and not one of them helped you.
This is why there is a disconnect between the police and the public
.

Respect is earned not given and government has never earned respect

I love how that woman sitting down looked at him the entire time like he’s trash. Spectacle!

How many cops does it take to copy a piece of paper,…we still don’t know

I’m not sure what annoys me more, the blatant waste of time, the lecturing of officers, or the $40 cost for a public record to hold government accountable… time wasted and paywalls to accountability… this is why government is failing…

He is lucky he wasn’t arrested for not letting them help him 🤣

Qualified immunity needs abolished. That’s why cops just laugh &/or cuff you when threatened w a lawsuit. Bc the taxpayers are the only ones punished for bad cop behavior!

This guy has a mouth. I’m surprised that they didn’t try to recruit him on that alone.

If it wasn’t for the video’s you wouldn’t believe how these public servants act toward we the people ( citizens ) they were rule, disrespectful and out right ignorant acting. And for her to bring up your mother’s name. Their treatment of you was outrageous, and should be fired, who do they think they are. Pure tyrants and 6 police officer’s for what? Keep videoing and exposing, you have my vote….Stay safe

The worst part of interactions like this is that the private citizen is citing laws that are actually being broken by public servants and the public servants are citing bogus charges against the citizen.

Perfect example of how police escalate in every situation. Great video exposing public employees that think it’s their building & they actually think that WE the people have to serve & cater to them.

I think he handled it very well the only thing I don’t understand is he said he filed the foia without his name because he wanted to remain anonymous and then he used either a credit or debit card that makes no sense

I have to honestly say I don’t know if I could control my temper with these officers are trying to create a situation that would allow them to throw me out!

11:00 FREE HELP?! Are they all volunteers today? There is probably more than $500,000 worth of LEOS just standing around harassing a citizen!

For all the help they claimed to want to provide, they just couldn’t get over their egos. Their disdain for the public and transparency was on full display.

There are 27 cameras back there. Why is mine the issue. “LOL”

Imo they act like this because they are hoping that the person will lose their patients to justify them making a hands on arrest? The person behind the counter is the one the Cops should of been talking to and observing as they were the one that started to make unjustified personal comments. Very good auditor who keeps his cool and explains things very well.

Overstaffed police department that’s for sure

A great example of how there isn’t any Law Enforcement, but Feelings Policing and Revenue Generating by today’s undereducated overpaid Governmental Welfare Recipients.

“That’s disorderly conduct sir..”

🤦🤦🤦🤦 They always try and pull that BS because most people don’t know their rights and will roll over for them.

One thing these videos show is the overstaffing of all these police forces. They are all sitting around doing nothing until they see an opportunity to hassle a citizen. Budgets should be slashed.

To charge a person with disorderly conduct there has to be a threat of imminent danger.
In NC there’s a law thst says if ya cuss a cop you can be charged with assault on a cop.
In this case, the cop could ask the man to stop cussing, but not demand it. Or call it disorderly conduct. That’s suppression of free speech. So is the law in NC.
Bring up my Momma & we gon tangle.

“They’re back there working on your request.” WTH? Do they have 6 monks back there copying the 10 Commandments for the last 45 minutes?

Look at the tyrannt who keeps covering his body cam!

He missed a few opportunites to say “You work here AND want to help me? Go get my stamped and dated copy of my paperwork… Why aren’t you moving to help me?”

This auditor went way too far with the verbal abuse. This is obviously all about getting clicks.

Will they ever get tired of pulling out old faithful “ disorderly conduct “ I doubt it it will be used to intimidate and threaten till the end of time.

Courts have ruled multiple officer s is a show of force and may constitute a detention

This auditor could learn a few things about professionalism by watching Battousai for a while.
I kinda dont like it when auditors get deliberately rude. I mean… I get it…. My mother is dead so if she said that to me I’d get a bit upset so…. I get it.

I know “she started it” but we really shouldn’t be propping up auditors who act like this. He CLEARLY heard something he could take and run with to ratchet up the confrontation and went 10x beyond what her little transgression reasonably called for, let’s be real. The overly-confrontational type of auditors make it about themselves instead of the big picture and even when they’re TECHNICALLY in the right, end up harming their own cause acting like jack-offs. Yes, the police sucked, so this is just immaturity on BOTH sides.

They actually believe they help people out 🤡

Seems like harrassment just to get public service

Why did he pay by card? They can now find out who he is!
>> Because they already know him from previous battles they lost.

You have to go at these lions like a lion. They are no longer public servants they are public predators. Reason and logic is not a flower that grows in any of their Gardens. They prey on the weak stand your ground be adamant about exercising your constitutional rights. Keywords are lawsuit and ending their qualified immunity. You made it clear you know you’re constitutional rights and the consequences that they will incur for violating your constitutional rights. FTP
