Police Officers don’t know Tresprass Law

These officers are either ignorant of the law, or lying about the law; both are unacceptable.

Once again, the ignorance level of both female cops really is hilighted in this encounter. The “Sargent “ let him go only to save a possible civil rights violation.

Huge respect for Andrew staying so calm, and the supervisor who knew the law. And yet not a single apology from the other officers, despicable! They should not be working as officers thinking because they have badge they can dictact and make up their own rules. Awful.

Do you see the problem here? The citizen is immediately guilty because the police officer don’t understand the law.

“I dunno how I’m being detained for something you don’t know.” That statement right there encapsulated this whole ordeal.

I love how frustrated cops can get when a citizen won’t willingly help them violate their own rights.
The way these tyrants operate trying to scare you into submission is disgraceful they eventually backed down from their ego trip because they were getting exhausted going back and forth in a desperate attempt to be right. I’m glad my man stood firm, calm and articulate and got to walk away just like everyone else.
So this calm, mild-mannered guy stole from this business, pushed the employee and then returned to shop peacefully? That man had great restraint and deescalation skills
They tell him to leave. He agrees. They prevent him from leaving, which is an illegal arrest. They continuously interrupt him with a bad attitude, raising their voices, waving hands in his face. They were not investigating anything, so they illegally prolonged his detainment and admitted the reason was to “document it”. This man was extremely calm while they violated his rights, and deescalated the situation multiple times while the officers attempted to escalate.
I hate it when cops state, “which law school did you go to?” No one needs to be a lawyer or law student to stand up for your constitutional rights and know your rights. That’s how skewed and narrow minded these cops are. When low IQ candidates are hired to be cops, as in this case, they lack the critical thinking skills and common sense to understand what this man is saying. He definitely was more informed than these two. To say, “it’s that simple and just comply and you’ll be out of here,” is ludicrous and condescending and is discounting his constitutional and civil rights. This is why we need to abolish qualified immunity and require high IQ candidates be hired and make police academy training a two year program with emphasis on the US Constitution, deescalation techniques and critical thinking skills.
They actually “solicit the trespass”, asking the owner to notify him, then preventing him from departure… They have illegally detained this individual, and they are the reason he’s not leaving, while trying to extort his rights… They always say “why you makin a big deal”… But clearly you don’t get to ask for fairness and legal treatment…
The most incredible thing to point out about this entire interaction……the people being paid are the ones talking over and shouting over this man, getting frustrated and escalating as far as they can… The man out shopping and spending money and being harassed and wrongfully accused is calm and intelligent and articulate.
