Qura: Is Donald Trump a sociopath?

One of the most widely-accepted traits of a sociopath is the belief that the rules apply not to themselves but to others. This generally comes with a complex rationalization, which generally involves readily apparent logical gaps and fallacies that the sociopath tends to just leap right over.

They’re the kings of their own self, and without the ability to see beyond oneself, they feel they hold a privileged place in the social order. They view themselves frequently as a wolf in a society composed entirely of sheep.

.. Donald Trump is not necessarily a clear and unambiguous sociopath, but I will say that the most sociopathic thing he’s suggested in my mind is gutting the first amendment by relaxing libel laws allowing him to sue people who print nasty things about him. The sheep are attacking him, and he, a wolf among sheep, must show them who’s boss! That’s just one example of sociopath behavior. The potentially-Orwellian consequences on everyone else of gutting the first amendment don’t matter, because this isn’t about them. It’s abouthim.
