Making what people want isn’t enough. You have to share it.

Make a habit of sharing what you build early and often on Reddit and HackerNews. Shake your fear of rejection, and get used to filtering criticism and being outright ignored. Factor in the extra time needed on your projects to tune your work and make it resonate with your audience. Be a prolific sharer.

.. Before you start your next project, commit to sharing early and often. Post on Facebook, Reddit, HackerNews, and in message boards. If your posts don’t get traction, HackerNews allows a small number of reposts spaced out over time — you’re not spamming (so long as you’re not spamming). On the Internet, no one really cares about you when you’re small. Take that for the gift it is, and be a prolific sharer.
