Cops lied to put him in handcuffs, but a camera caught the truth!

A Los Angeles man says he was targeted by police after he was pulled over for crossing a line in front of a stop sign; but after placing him in handcuffs and arresting the passenger in his car, a recording cellphone caught the real reason cops pulled him over.

Former Cop Challenges Reckless Officers

His ability to estimate speed, especially while he is moving in the opposite direction, is a lie.

Former Cop: “I’m sorry officer. Why did you shine your spotlight in my eyes then pull me over?”
Cop: “I wanted to see if you were black”.
Former Cop: “What?”
Cop: “What?”

No. He gets an F for illegally shinning his light into their car, racial profiling and lying about clocking them over 30mph when the video GPS clearly shows him within a mile or two of the posted speed limit. And if it weren’t for the fact the driver was a former cop with an extensive history in two different police departments they all would have been sitting on the curb, arrested and fined for nothing. We need to call it how it is.

C-? He literally could’ve caused an accident and racially profiled a man. This is easily a F- for the officer.

“Visually estimated the speed”🤧 well I’ll be damned, people are developing special skills…
Guy: Why’d you shine the light in my eyes? Cop: I wanted to see if you were black- I mean black- I mean black- I mean, speeding.
Why would this cop get a C- while blinding an innocent citizen with his spotlight while driving and intending to pull over that citizen over before witnessing a crime? A verbal warning doesn’t excuse that level of abuse.
Cop: “So, I clocked you being Black, so I turned my car around and pace clocked y’all being Black” Former cop: “What?” Cop: “What ?” 🙄
“I wanted to see who was driving” – yeah, I bet you did
I’d like to see the last calibration certificate for the cop’s eyes that allows him to ”visually identify speed”
Imagine if you had a spotlight , and flashed it like this cop did , into a cops car! Even in 2021 you’d be lucky to not be bleeding within 10 minutes!
every cop needs to see every one of these videos and then have to write and essay about what they learned and how they feel about what they saw.
I love how the officer is making small talk as he shines his flashlight in every pocket and cubby of the car he can find, desperately looking for something illegal to validate his stop
The dashcam clearly shows dude driving under the speed limit. I’d want to take that officer to court and have his “speeding ticket by sight” privileges taken from him. And maybe sue him for reckless endangerment after that stunt with the spotlight.
He’s one of those cops who have decided that everybody is a criminal unless they can prove otherwise. He needs a new job.
you lose a lot of credibility when you give a passing grade to a police officer who lied about the speed of the oncoming car, shining a light into the eyes of an oncoming car and abusing his powers.
Officer gets an “F” for racial profiling , endangering a driver and lying for claiming the driver was speeding & quizzing to test if driver was truly an officer which had NOTHING to do with traffic stop
i love how you rate officers on whether or not they break the law but the citizens on how much upset they get on the fact the officer is trying to steal their lives
Sounds like the driver has a good case for a “driving while black” lawsuit.
Yeah, this is one of the few instances where I would accept the assertion that the interaction is almost assuredly based on race. He shined the light in the car, saw the brown people, and stopped the vehicle to fish. I’d assert that’s why he wanted the IDs of everyone in the car, to try to score a warrant on someone.
This is horrific. Flashing a light in an on-coming car’s driver’s eyes is reckless and dangerous and doubtless unlawful. Where did the officer learn to do this? What is the authorisation? What does the police department’s policy have to say about this? A lengthy, unpaid suspension would appear to be an appropriate and salutary punishment – pour encourager les autres.
They get an F. They weren’t speeding and they shined him.
Let’s call this what it was, “Racial profiling.” ….That cop simply used his spotlight to see who were occupying that vehicle, saw black men and decided to create a bullshit reason to stop them. Simple. That C- should be an F. Love the vids. Keep em coming. 👍🏾

Cops keep pulling him over, and their reasons are increasingly bizarre

Shortly after our story aired on how police put LA resident Daniel Alvarez in handcuffs for a bogus traffic violation, he was pulled over again for allegedly switching lanes without signaling. In this episode of PAR, we explore the continued use of questionable traffic stops to harass people like Daniel, and what these troubling tactics say about the state of American policing across the country.
