“Presidents are not kings, and the plaintiff is not president.” These were the words of a U.S. Federal judge rejecting former President Donald Trump’s request to withhold records about the January 6th insurrection. The ruling will give a bipartisan house committee access to hundreds of pages of documents from the Trump White House. The committee also has issued 10 new subpoenas to former Trump officials. The Washington Post has conducted its own extensive investigation called “The Attack: Before, During and After.” It included more than 75 journalists and interviews with over 230 people.
