Laura Ingraham Is Ready to Rev Up Fox News

Ms. Ingraham honed her craft in college at The Dartmouth Review, the undergraduate right-wing journal that earned national recognition (and some revulsion) for stunts that, in hindsight, presaged the antics of Breitbart reporters.

.. “All the way back to Dartmouth, I was part of the insurgency,” she said.

In an era before mainstream acceptance of homosexuality, Ms. Ingraham assigned a reporter to attend a meeting of the campus gay students’ alliance and published a transcript of the proceedings, naming names. Years later, she apologized, citing in part the experience of her gay brother and his partner, who had AIDS.

.. “Laura represents her own unique brand,” said Christopher Ruddy, who runs Newsmax, a Fox News competitor. “She comes out of the milieu of talk radio, where the economics of that business have driven a lot of hosts who were moderately conservative to be a little edgier.”

.. She had been encouraged to back Mr. Brat by a producer, Julia Hahn, who went on to write for Breitbart and now works in the White House.

.. Asked if she is bringing a Breitbart viewership to Fox News, Ms. Ingraham responded: “I wouldn’t call it a Breitbart audience. I would call it America.”

“I like Tom Wolfe’s description of the country,” she continued. “There’s America. The coasts are like the parentheses. In between is the country.”

Who Is Julia Hahn? 7 Things to Know About Steve Bannon’s Protégée Who Now Works in the White House.

The 25-year-old is a former Breitbart News editor.

“She’ll be Bannon’s Bannon and make Bannon look moderate,” William Kristol, the editor of the conservative magazine the Weekly Standard, told the Washington Post.

2. Her hiring was seen by some observers as a deliberate challenge to Paul Ryan.

.. Then she got a job working for the far-right radio host Laura Ingraham, and her views began to change (she eventually became an executive producer of Ingraham’s show).

.. Also before joining Breitbart, Hahn served as the press secretary for Rep. Dave Brat

.. She also suggested Hahn’s views could change, saying, “What she feels in this particular moment could be different three days from now.”

.. She seemed then to show a knack for provocation.

.. Hahn’s salary as a senior investigative reporter at Breitbart was $117,217.

7. She is extremely loyal to Steve Bannon.

Trump Couple, Now White House Employees, Can’t Escape Conflict Laws

Donald Trump can evade legal responsibility even if the conflicts of interest remain,” said Noah Bookbinder, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a liberal nonprofit group. “His daughter and son-in-law don’t have that escape hatch.”

Mr. Kushner did resign from more than 200 positions in the partnerships and limited liability companies that make up the family-run multibillion-dollar real estate business. But the financial disclosure report shows that Mr. Kushner will remain a beneficiary of most of those same entities.

.. the Kushner Companies’ deals have become a magnet for opaque foreign money — often from parts of the world that present thorny policy questions, such as China, where Mr. Kushner’s company has actively sought investors, as well as the Middle East and Russia.

.. Mr. Kushner, by contrast, continues to hold multimillion-dollar lines of credit from institutions such as Citigroup and Deutsche Bank, while companies he is still a beneficiary of have billions of dollars in additional loans from heavily regulated institutions.

.. “The one thing Jared really ought to stay completely away from is anything having to do with Dodd-Frank,”

.. Even Mr. Bannon’s aide Julia Hahn, who is 25, reported investments worth between $1 million and $2.1 million

.. Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president, had assets worth between $11 million and $44 million.
