5 Former Madoff Aides Found Guilty of Fraud
Federal prosecutors made a case that two computer engineers, Jerome O’Hara and George Perez, helped Mr. Madoff pull off an enormous Ponzi scheme by knowingly creating computer programs that could create fake trades and records.
.. The day he was arrested, Mr. Madoff’s customers believed their accounts contained a total of $64.8 billion. According to the bankruptcy trustee, Irvin H. Picard, investors actually had a loss of about $17.3 billion.
